Restrain animal. It is recommended that a sedative and local analgesic be given to the animal. Disinfect scrotum with warm water and a chlorhexidine or iodine solution. Force the testicles up and place the knife below the testicles. Close the knife and pull downward, making an incision from side to side. Testicle may be removed with an emasculator or Henderson Castrating Tool.

House animals in a dry, clean environment that has been sprayed for flies. Monitor animals for infection.
