The Half Bale Hay Rack for Horses by Hay CHIX allows a quick feeding time for stalled horses. This hay rack is designed to hold half of a small square bale or 4 to 6 flakes. The metal hay rack frame measures 25” x 25” x 35” and features safe, rounded corners, plus a threaded locking nut. The curved front of the hay rack adds structural integrity and safety. May be used on lean-to’s, turn outs, panels, fences or on barn walls. The slow-feed net on the hay rack is designed to help keep horses from wasting hay and help them slow down on hay consumption; a great choice for horses on stall rest.

Always remove bailing twine or net wrap before using slow-feeder nets. When introducing your horses to the Hay CHIX net, always feed ‘loose hay’ for the first week. Some horses may refuse the net at first, assuming you will give them more free-choice hay. Allow them to adjust by offering the free-choice hay and then giving them an extended period with the net (12 hours or so) and see how much your horse has eaten.
Cleaning instructions: Clean your net by using dish soap and warm water, hang to air dry. Do not use harsh chemicals, like bleach, as it will break down the fibers and cause the netting to become frail. Put your net back into use before it dries all the way; the netting loves moisture.
