Transition Calcium Bolus for cows is fast-dissolving calcium supplement bolus for freshening cows. Formulated with three forms of calcium and Vitamin D3. Contains calcium chloride for immediate absorption, calcium propionate for moderate immediate release (maintains calcium levels longer) and calcium carbonate, which offers low immediate release (with calcium level increasing over time). Manufactured with a patented process, using high concentrations of liquefied nutrients, hardened and compressed into a single, quick dissolution bolus.

  • Helps cows return to the milking herd in a normal timeframe.
  • Vitamin D3 aids in absorption and metabolism of calcium and phosphorus.
  • Ideal for high-risk transition cows.
  • Each bolus contains 44 grams of calcium and 50,000 IU of Vitamin D3.
  • Guaranteed analysis: calcium, 25.0% (min).
  • Do not administer with excessive force; nor administer to cows lying down, aggressive cows or cows without a normal swallowing reflex.
  • 176 gram (44 g Ca).
  • Store in original packaging at 36 to 90 °F.
  • Transition Calcium Boluses are packed in individual inserts. Open sealed plastic cover just prior to use, as moisture will affect the bolus.
  • Broken boluses or boluses with sharp edges should not be used.
  • For animal use only..
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Administer 1 bolus immediately after calving, and again 12 hours after calving.

  1. Insert flat end of the bolus snugly into an appropriate bolus gun (V-Grip™ Bolus Gun from Genesis Instruments is recommended, sold separately).
  2. Point rounded end toward the cow.
  3. Insert bolus gun into the back of the cow’s mouth and deposit the bolus, allowing the animal to swallow.
  4. After administration, allow water access for the animal.
