Durable, all-PVC construction balling gun. For adult cattle use as a multi-dose bolus gun or oral drencher. It can hold three Bio-Vet® solid boluses, plus two #7 veterinary gelatin capsules. It can also be used to administer multiple veterinary boluses, capsules, magnets or oral liquid drenches. Hollow plunger design allows gun to double as a drencher for administering oral liquid treatments.
Labeled for: beef and dairy cattle
Species: cattle
Bolus, capsule or magnet application:
- Hold gun in horizontal position, pull back plunger.
- Insert desired number of solid boluses into tip of gun with flat end of boluses going into gun first and rounded end pointing out. Holding tip of gun slightly upward, gently place gun into mouth of properly restrained adult cattle only. To help prevent injury to the mouth and throat, position tip of gun no further inside the mouth than the base of the tongue. Raise the animal’s head so the tip of gun is in a slightly downward position.
- Slowly advance plunger to dispense contents, one at a time, at very back of mouth behind the teeth. Allow adequate time for animal to swallow each bolus. Remove gun from animal’s mouth. Clean and dry gun between uses.
Oral liquid drenches:
With gun properly placed in animal’s mouth as described above, and plunger fully advanced, slowly pour liquid out of the opening on the end of the plunger, allowing animal to swallow the liquid. Remove gun from animal’s mouth, clean and dry the gun between uses.
