The Vaxxinova Vaxxon SRP Salmonella Vaccine (Salmonella Newport Bacterial Extract) is for the vaccination of healthy cattle, 6 months of age and older, as an aid in the control of disease and fecal shedding caused by infection with Salmonella newport. The first vaccine to use SRP technology and fully licensed by the USDA. SRP technology antigen is a blend of purified SRP proteins rather than whole, killed bacterial cells. Bacteria require iron to survive, SRP technology blocks the uptake of iron into the bacterial cells controlling infection and colonization of salmonella. Through the guidance of your veterinarian, incorporating Vaxxon SRP Salmonella vaccine may reduce clinical signs of diarrhea by 82%, decrease fecal shedding by 99.9% and increase 2.5 pounds of milk production per cow daily.

  • The unique SRP technology creates antibodies to prevent harmful salmonella bacteria from stealing the iron they need to survive from the host animal.
  • It helps control new infection, minimizing antibiotic use and discarded milk.
  • Decreases signs of illness from salmonellosis due to Salmonella newport.
  • Minimizes the amount of Salmonella newport shed in feces.
  • Increases milk production by 2.5 pounds/cow/day, even in herds with no apparent clinical signs.
  • Decreases in somatic cell count have been associated with vaccination.
  • Store at 35° to 46° (2° to 8°C). Do not freeze.
  • Use entire contents when first opened.
  • Do not vaccinate within 60 days of slaughter.
  • Transient swelling may occur at the injection site.
  • In case of allergic response, administer flunixin meglumine and/or epinephrine.
  • Contains an emulsified adjuvant; in the case of self-injection, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contains formaldehyde and polymyxin-B as preservatives.
  • Do not mix with other products.
  • For use by, or under, the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.

Shake this product well before use. Administer 2 ml (1 ds) subcutaneously. Revaccinate in 2 to 4 weeks. Dry cows and bred heifers should be vaccinated twice before calving; whole herd vaccination may be done at any stage of lactation. The need for annual booster vaccination has not been established for this product; consultation with a veterinarian is recommended.
