Merck Bovilis Guardian Cattle Vaccine is a killed vaccine for use in healthy cows and heifers to prevent scours in neonatal calves. This vaccine is administered during pregnancy, 3 months prior to calving with a booster 3 to 6 weeks later. Bovilis Guardian vaccine provides passive immunity against neonatal calf diarrhea caused by bovine Group A Serotype G6 rotaviruses, enterotoxigenic E. coli pilus type K99, bovine coronavirus, and enterotoxemia due to C. perfringens Types C & D in calves. Offers broad-spectrum coverage of antigens responsible for bacterial and viral causes of scours in young calves. Ensure the newborn receives adequate colostrum within the first 12 hours of life to receive antibodies to fend off scour-causing pathogens.
