Merck Safe-Guard Suspension 10% for Cattle is a liquid oral dewormer for use in beef and dairy cattle and goats. Safe-Guard oral drench dewormer contains the active ingredient, fenbendazole and is labeled for the removal and control of lungworms, stomach worms (adults and fourth stage larvae), brown stomach worms, intestinal worms (adults and fourth stage larvae), hookworms, thread-necked intestinal worms, small intestinal worms, bankrupt worms, and nodular worms. In goats, labeled for the treatment of adult stomach worms (Hasemonchus controtus and Teladorsagia circumcincta). The dose rate for both cattle and goat is 2.3-mg/lb.

  • Safe and effective wormer.
  • Having a deworming protocol in place can help with dry matter intake, average daily gain, improved health, and pounds of beef produced.
  • One liter deworms 43,478-lb of cattle; one gallon deworms 164,565-lb; 10 liters deworms 434,780-lb of cattle. (2.3-ml/100-lb of cattle).
  • Cattle must not be slaughtered within 8 days following last treatment.
  • Goats must not be slaughtered within 6 days following last treatment.
  • Do not use in pre-ruminating calves or calves to be processed for veal.
  • 48-hour milk withhold in dairy cattle after last treatment.
  • Because a milk discard has not been established, do not use in lactating dairy goats.
  • Not for use in beef calves less than 2 months of age, dairy calves, and veal calves.
  • May need to repeat if animals are continually exposed to parasites.
  • Protect from freezing.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Shake well before use.

For beef and dairy cattle: Administer orally at a dose rate of 2.3-ml per 100-lbs of bodyweight.

For goats: Administer 0.6-ml per 25-lb of bodyweight.

Do not underdose. Ensure each animal receives a complete dose based on a current bodyweight. Underdosing may result in ineffective treatment and encourage the development of parasite resistance.
