PRN pharmaceutical KBrovet-CA1 for Dogs is a chewable tablet form of potassium bromide. Indicated for use in controlling seizures associated with idiopathic epilepsy in dogs. The active ingredient in this medication exerts anti-epileptic activity, essentially increasing the seizure threshold and stabilizing neurons in the brain from which the seizure originates. A proprietary flavored tablet to aid in palatability. This oral medication used to treat seizure disorders in dogs and may be used in conjunction with other anti-seizure medications or as the sole anticonvulsant.

  • Used to treat certain seizure disorders in dogs.
  • Great tasting liver flavor for easy administration.
  • Potassium bromide liver-flavored chewable tablets.
  • Helps treat and control seizure disorders in dogs.
  • May be taken in conjunction with other seizure medications.
  • Dogs may experience increased hunger, thirst and urination.
  • May also experience nausea, constipation and uncoordinated movements. These symptoms generally disappear after approximately 3 weeks. Use with caution in animals with kidney disease, older animals and those with other health problems.
  • Not for use in cats.
  • Conditionally approved by FDA pending a full demonstration of effectiveness under application number 141-544.

The total recommended daily dosage range for oral administration is 25 to 68-mg/kg (11 to 31-mg/lb) of bodyweight. The dosage of KBroVet-CA1 should be adjusted based on monitoring of clinical response of the individual patient. May be dosed with or without food. Use of an initial loading dosage regimen may be considered on an individual patient basis, balancing the time required to achieve a therapeutic response while minimizing side effects.

Do not miss a dose as this may cause a seizure. Give a missed dose as soon as possible on the same day it was missed but do not double dose the medication on a day following the missed dose.
