Hoof-it Liquid acrylic is mixed with 2-bottles of Hoof-it Powder to form an adhesive to apply hoof blocks or boots to cattle hooves. Once the liquid and powder are mixed together, they form a fast-curing, high-tech dental acrylic resin to form a secure and comfortable bond between the hoof block and hoof. Hoof-it adhesive emits less odor than many similar products; it mixes easily and offers consistent results.

Labeled for: beef and dairy cattle

Species: cattle

  • Acrylic hoof repair for dairy cattle.
  • Less temperamental to heat and cold factors than many other products.
  • Mixes easily with Hoof-it Powder.
  • Less odor compared to other products.
  • One bottle of 473-ml Hoof-it Liquid mixed with 2, 454-gram bottles of powder will make enough adhesive to block 20 claws.
  • Product generates heat in the curing process, yet it will not burn the hoof or claw.
  • Wear latex gloves when mixing.

Pour liquid up to the line in the mixing toe. One capful of liquid is approximately 25-ml.

Pour powder into the rest of the mixing toe, approximately 50-grams of powder. Do not fill toe completely; leave room for mixing. Use mixing stick to gently push powder into liquid. Once a majority of the powder is in liquid, mix quickly. Use stick to push substance to the top of the mixing toe. Slide wood block into the bottom of the mixing toe. Use mixing stick to pull mixture onto block 3/4 of the way leaving about an inch of block exposed.

Quickly apply block to good claw using mixing toe as a guide around hoof. Be sure to avoid pressing too hard, and leave about 3/16-inch of glue in between the claw and block. Use the mixing toe to smooth excess glue around the claw to help hold the block on.

Keep the hoof in the air for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing it to dry and harden. Release the hoof quickly, allowing the cow to put weight entirely on the block. Allow cow to adjust weight to the block for a few seconds to make sure the block stays on. Release cow from holding chute. The block can be removed when the injured toe is healed. Do not leave block on for more than 6 to 8 weeks.
