Boehringer Ingelheim Express FP 10 HB is a modified live vaccine for use in healthy cows and heifers prior to breeding. Aids in the prevention of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) Types 1 and 2, parainfluenza 3 (PI3), bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), and 5 common strains of Leptospirosis (Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona). Pregnant cows or calves nursing pregnant cows can be vaccinated with Express FP 10 HB provided the cows were vaccinated pre-breeding, according to label instructions, with any Express FP vaccine within the past 12 months.

Research has shown the duration of immunity against IBR-induced abortion and against BVD Types 1 and 2, including persistently infected calves, is at least 12 months. Also shown to be effective against urinary shedding of L. borgpetersenii serovar hardjo (type Hardjo-bovis). Vaccinated animals subsequently exposed to hardjo-bovi Lepto strain have been shown to clear renal infections within 8 weeks of exposure.

  • Provides effective protection to the fetus against IBR-induced abortion and calves persistently infected by BVD Types 1 and 2 when the dam is vaccinated prior to breeding.
  • Helps clear renal infections caused by Lepto strain hardjo bovis.
  • Proven efficacy to prevent abortions due to IBR, persistently infected calves due to BVD Types 1 & 2, and urinary shedding of harjo bovis.
  • This vaccine may be given to pregnant cattle provided they were vaccinated with any Express FP vaccine within the past 12 months.
  • Calves nursing from pregnant cows may be vaccinated provided the dam has been previously vaccinated within the past 12 months with Express FP.
  • 21-day slaughter withhold.
  • Store out of direct sunlight at 35 to 46 °F (2 to 8 °C). Do not freeze.
  • Do not mix with other products, except as specified on this label.
  • Use entire contents when first opened.
  • Stressed cattle should not be vaccinated.
  • Injection site swelling may occur.
  • In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine.
  • In case of human exposure, contact a physician.
  • Inactivate unused contents before disposal.

Mix the accompanying bottle of diluent. Rehydrate the vaccine by aseptically adding the diluent to the vaccine vial. Mix well and use immediately. Using aseptic technique, inject 2 ml subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

For cows or heifers, vaccinate at, or about, 4 weeks prior to breeding. If using subcutaneous route, inject in front of the shoulder and midway of the neck, away from the suprascapular lymph node. If initial vaccination, repeat with any Express vaccine containing Leptospira and BRSV MLV in 14 to 28 days. Contact your veterinarian or the manufacturer for information on revaccination frequency.
