Merck Prestige Prodigy Horse Vaccine is for the vaccination of healthy horses, 6 months of age or older, to aid in prevention of abortion and respiratory disease caused by equine Herpesvirus Type 1 (EHV-1) infection. Provides protections against abortions in pregnant mares and respiratory disease caused by EHV-1 (Herpesvirus + Rhinopneumonitis). Killed vaccine with the exclusive Havlogen adjuvant to provide superior efficacy and exceptional safety. For pregnant mares, administer a 2-ml dose intramuscularly in the 5th, 7th and 9th months of pregnancy. Three doses are essential for primary immunization.
Maiden and barren mares housed or pastured with pregnant mares should be vaccinated on the same schedule.
For primary vaccination against respiratory disease, administer three 2-ml doses intramuscularly at 4 to 6-week intervals.
A 2-ml booster dose should be administered annually—and any time epidemic conditions exist or are reported, and exposure is imminent.
