MooTrax Energizer from ZeroLameness, LLC is a footbath additive which ionizes footbath treatments containing zinc or copper sulfate as the active ingredient. Adding MooTrax to footbaths for cows helps prevent warts, hoof rot, corns, and dramatically improves overall hoof integrity. MooTrax lowers footbath pH and keeps it low to improve efficacy. Makes zinc or copper more aggressive and contains an additive to help draw out infection. Easy to mix—just add indicated amount of MooTrax energizer with water and zinc or copper sulfate to 40 gallons of footbath water. MooTrax can also be used as a topical spray when cold temperatures restrict the use of cows passing through footbaths.

Start-up (for herds with moderate-to-high incidences of lameness):
Week 1: Use this solution once per day for 7 consecutive days.
- Add 53 oz of MooTrax Energizer along with 25 lb of copper sulfate to 40 gal of water.
- Discard solution after 150 cow passes.
Week 2: Use this solution once per day for 7 consecutive days.
- Add 53 oz of MooTrax Energizer with 20 lb of copper sulfate to 40 gal of water.
- Discard solution after 150/200 cow passes.
If foot problems are severe , the addition of spraying may be necessary. In a 2-gallon pump sprayer, mix 1-1/2 gal of water with 53 oz of MooTrax; then, add 1 cup of copper sulfate. Following a positive inspection by your hoof trimmer, begin the ‘Routine Application’ as listed below.
Routine application:
- Add 16 oz of MooTrax Energizer with 16 lb of copper sulfate to 40 gal of water.
- Discard solution after each 150/200 cow passes depending on cow cleanliness.
Use the solution during 1 milking per day, 4 days per week, on Monday-Tuesday, then Thursday-Friday. Increase the number of days per week at the recommendation of your hoof trimmer or call the manufacturer at 507.459.2619. If cold water does not permit the use of a footbath, spray the feet with a mixture of 13 gal of water, 53 oz of MooTrax, and 10 lbs of copper sulfate. Mix in a clean, specifically marked, 15-gal container.
For each footbath, mix in a separate pail, 3 gal of warm water plus the correct volume of MooTrax along with the recommended amount of copper sulfate. Fill the footbath with 40 gal of water first, then pour the contents of the pail into the water through the length of the footbath.
