To determine injured areas on the hoof, close the tester around different points of the hoof. Make sure to use the same amount of pressure to keep variables at a minimum. A sensitive area is found when the animal attempts to withdraw its foot. To ensure that it is due to pain and not due to nerves or agitation, test the area again. The animal will have the same response if it is painful. Treat hoof as needed.
