Elanco Component EZ Implant Gun

1. Line up the cartridge belt tab with the notch on the bottom of the implanter magazine.
2. Insert the belt until it clicks.
3. Advance the first dose by moving the thumb lever down and up one time.
4. View the dose in the chamber window to ensure it is in position to be implanted. You are now ready to implant.
5. Properly restrain the animal. Evaluate the ear and clean if necessary. Completely insert the needle under the skin on the backside of the ear so the implant will deposit in the middle one-third of the ear. Squeeze the trigger completely to discharge the implant. Withdraw the needle.
6. Advance the next dose by moving the thumb lever down and up.
7. Disinfect the needle between each animal and after any ‘skips’ off the ear by wiping with a sponge moistened with properly diluted disinfectant (chlorhexidine). Disinfect the needle with the plunger rod extended only if the plunger rod becomes dirty.
8. To remove a partially used belt, use the thumb lever to advance the belt through the device until it can be removed from the top of the magazine.

Periodically wash the EZ Implanter. The exterior can be wiped clean or washed with mild detergent. Flush the interior of the magazine with warm water. Allow the implanter to drain and dry prior to use. Use the enclosed brush to clean inside the needle as needed. Do not clean the interior or exterior of the device with disinfectant solution.
