Quartermaster is potent, combination antibiotic, mastitis treatment for dry cows. It’s used in dairy cows to reduce the frequency of existing infection and to prevent new infection with Staphylococcus aureus. Each 10 ml syringe contains 1,000,000 units of procaine penicillin G and 1 gram dihydrostreptomycin in an oil base.

At the last milking before drying off, completely milk out the cow. Clean and dry the teats and udder with disinfectant; then, using the alcohol pads provided, clean each teat. Insert one syringe into the teat opening and slowly infuse contents. Use one syringe per affected quarter. Treated teats should be dipped into an effective teat dip. The teat or quarter should not be handled again until the cow freshens. Withhold milk for 96 hours after calving.
