Pyrantel Paste horse dewormer removes and controls mature infections of large and small strongyles, pinworms, and large roundworms in horses and ponies. Safe for use in foals as young as 2 months of age or in pregnant mares up to 1 month prior to foaling. May be given to nursing mares 10 days following foaling. Packaged in a premeasured syringe marked in 300-pound increments for accurate dosage. Apple flavored for increased palatability. Easy-to-administer paste form of dewormer for horses.
Labeled for: horses
Species: horse
Administer as a single dose of 3-mg pyrantel paste per pound of bodyweight. The syringe has four weight mark increments. Each weight mark indicates the recommended dose for 300 pounds of bodyweight.
After removing the cap, the paste should be deposited on the back of the tongue. Introduce the nozzle end of the syringe at the corner of the mouth. Depress the plunger to deposit the paste onto the tongue. Raising the horse’s head sometimes assists in the swallowing process.
It is recommended that foals (2 to 8 months old) be dosed every 4 weeks. Give pregnant mare 1 dose 1 month prior to foaling and re-treat 10 days after foaling. Horses and ponies over 8 months old, give 1 dose every 6 weeks.
