Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine medication; available in injectable form or tablet form. The injectable form is for emergency situations needing fast antihistamine response such as acute swelling of the face and throat. The tablet form can be used for maintenance after acute swelling, allergic reactions to insect stings and bites, allergies, motion sickness and travel anxiety.
Labeled for: beef and dairy cattle, dogs and cats
Species: cattle, dog, cat
For dogs and cats, administer between 0.5 to 2 mg per pound (1 to 4 mg/kg) orally, two to three times daily. Always follow your veterinarian’s prescribed dosage if it differs from the standard dosage recommendations.
