Neogen Botvax B Horse Vaccine is USDA-approved for the prevention of equine botulism (Type B) caused by Clostridium botulinum. Give to horses and foals exposed to risk factors such as baled hay, endemic areas, or horses that frequent shows, races and other events. Also used for those with a wound/injury, injection-site abscess, infected umbilicus, puncture wound or after castration.
Clostridium botulinum Type B spores can remain in the soil for years and continuously affect unvaccinated horses. Once the horse becomes infected, symptoms can rapidly progress and become fatal. Botvax B provides protection in susceptible horses. Safe for all healthy horses including adults, pregnant mares and foals two weeks of age and older.
