Minnesota Easy Culture’s Clinical Mastitis Biplate is a two-part culture plate. Contains Factor and MacConkey media to differentiate gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens. Also aids in the detection of Staphylococcus aureus. Isolates bacterium to help with targeted mastitis treatment programs. Detects the most common types of mastitis-causing bacteria. Ideal for on-the-farm culturing and veterinary laboratory use.

Use a sterile cotton swab for each sample. Dip cotton swab into milk sample and allow to soak a few moments. Without touching the tip of the swab with your fingers or any other surface, swab each section of the bi-plate. First the Factor media and then the MacConkey media.
Place the plate in the incubator with the media side up (lid down) for up to 48 hours with the first reading after 18 to 24 hours. Use the interpretation guide to determine results.
