After-Birth Bolus for cattle and sheep is a non-medicated uterine bolus to provide antiseptic and proteolytic properties. Aids in the prevention of uterine infections after delivery and decreases the number of inflammatory debris in wounds. Hinders bacterial growth and decreases tissue proteins to more soluble forms for less pain and swelling. Use as a uterine flush post-calving or -lambing or wound cleanser. Urea antiseptic bolus.
Species: cattle, sheep
Completely cleanse the outside of the animal with warm soapy water prior to insertion of bolus or flush. Wash hands and arms before insertion. Insert boluses directly into the uterus or dissolve in 16 oz warm water for an intrauterine flush.
For cattle use:Â 2 to 4 boluses.
For sheep:Â use 1/2 to 1 bolus.
Repeat treatment in 24 to 48 hours if necessary.
When preparing a topical application for flushing wounds:Â Dissolve 4 boluses in 16 oz warm water. Apply to the cleansed wound. Bandage if necessary. Repeat in 24 to 48 hours if necessary.
