One gram of Panacur will treat 10 lbs of bodyweight daily. For example, a 15-lb dog should be treated with 2 grams.
This dosage should be given for three days in a row. If your dog’s weight falls in between dosages, it is recommended and safe to use the next higher dosage.
This medicated product should be mixed with the usual food. If feeding dry food, it is recommended to moisten it lightly to help ensure that the entire dose is taken.
A deworming schedule may vary, depending on where you live and the activity of your dog. The following schedule should be used as a general guideline:
- Weaned pups over 6 weeks of age should be dewormed at 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks of age. Treat the mother at the same time as you treat the puppies.
- Dogs over six months of age should be dewormed at least twice a year or more often, as necessary.
