Baby Pig Restart helps ease the weaning transition. The sweet flavor encourages baby pigs to transition to dry feed while consuming additional nutrients and energy. Features functional protein plasma, which helps supports the intestines. Administer by a top-dressing, mixed in drinking water or a drench.
Labeled for: swine
Species: pig
Contains electrolytes, acidification, plasma, proteins, dried skim, whey and probiotics.
Top dress up to 1/2 ounce per pig of Baby Pig Restart on the pig starter ration, twice a day during the first 2 days post weaning. Targeted feeding rate of no more than 1 ounce/pig/day.
Liquid feeding (gruel)
Day 1 post weaning: Mix 4 ounces of Baby Pig Restart in 1 quart of warm water to form a palatable gruel. Feed 1 quart of gruel per 20 pigs, two to three times per day in a pan to attract pigs.
Day 2 through 5 post weaning: Make gruel and then mix starter pellets into gruel at the rate of 1 to 2 lbs per 2 quarts. Feed 2 quarts of gruel/pellet mixture per 20 pigs, two times per day. Once pigs are starting to consume dry feed, discontinue gruel feeding. It may be helpful to feed the starter ration in the same pan previously used for gruel.
Oral feeding for one- to five-day old pigs
Mix 1 part of Baby Pig Restart with 2 parts of water and stir well to make a suspension. Slowly feed 0.5 oz (15 ml) of the suspension on the back of the tongue to severely stunted or starved one- to five-day old piglets. Repeat as needed, typically feed 1 oz (30 ml) of suspension, with a maximum of 2 oz (60 ml) of suspension/pig/day.

Baby pigs eat more of their creep feed when we top dress with restart.
