Merck Bovilis Nasalgen IP is a modified-live vaccine providing a rapid onset of protection in cattle 5-months of age and older against IBR and PI3. Intranasal administration for no injection site reactions or needle-stick to the animal. Provides local production of antibodies at the site where these disease-causing pathogens enter the respiratory system. Bovilis Nasalgen IP stimulates an immune response and high levels of antibodies in 48 hours. No temperature sensitivity issues to hinder replication once administered. Safe for use in pregnant cows, or in calves nursing pregnant cows.

  • Intranasal administration stimulates local and systemic immune response which means high levels of interferon produced and rapid immune response is achieved.
  • Convenient administration – can be given in one nostril or both, reducing stress on animals.
  • Aids in prevention of disease caused by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) and parainfluenza 3 (PI3) viruses.
  • Meat withhold, 21 days.
  • Store in the refrigerator at 2 to 8 °C (35 to 46 °F).
  • Anaphylactoid reactions may occur following use – administer Epinephrine.
  • Contains gentamicin as a preservative.
  • In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the diluent supplied. Administer 2-ml in one nostril or 1-ml in each nostril (total 2-ml dose per animal), using a separate cannula for each animal.

Most young animals will require additional boosters because of the presence of maternal antibody levels. Consult with veterinarian for booster(s).
