FOR-BID Coprophagia Deterrent is for use in dogs, cats, and other animals that ingest their own feces. FOR-BID is a tasteless, powdered supplement that is easy to give. Simply sprinkle the recommended amount of supplement onto the animal’s food. FOR-BID makes the stool unappetizing to the animal, deterring it from consuming. Upon tasting the stool, your pet will notice the unappealing taste and should discard it. If the behavior returns, sprinkle a pinch onto food for 2 to 3 weeks. Set your pet up for success by picking up after your pet frequently. This product will not alter the animal’s normal digestive process and should not cause changes to consistency or color of the stool. FOR-BID will not deter your animal from eating another animal’s poop. The powder must be consumed by the animal in which you want the stool eating to stop.

Coprophagia is the term used to describe the behavior of an animal eating its own stool or stool of another animal. Although this is normal under certain circumstances, such as a mother dog ingesting her newborn pup’s stool to keep the environment clean, this condition is generally behavioral; however, potential causes are a factor, and you should discuss with your pet’s veterinarian.
