Stainless steel. Blades are opened by loosening the small burr on the side of the instrument. Opens teat sphincters for better milk flow. Useful for follow-up surgery and mastitis.

Clean teat with appropriate antiseptic. Insert teat slitter into teat opening to widen the teat sphincter. Insert dilator in teat and allow it to remain there until next milking; then remove dilator and discard.
