The point of this knife is designed for short cuttings of the teat end. This allows an increased milk flow. When not being used, the blade can be unscrewed and inserted into the hollow handle. Perfect for soaking in disinfectant that can be placed in the handle.

Clean teat with appropriate antiseptic. Cut off the affected portion of the teat. Insert dilator in teat and allow it to remain there until next milking, then remove dilator and discard.
