Norbrook Cefenil RTU for cattle and swine is an antibiotic for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni. It is also for treatment of acute bovine interdigital necrobacillosis (foot rot) caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides spp. Also indicated for acute metritis (0 to 14 days post-partum) associated with organisms susceptible to ceftiofur. May be used in lactating dairy cattle.

For use in swine for the treatment and control of swine bacterial respiratory disease (SRD) caused in association with Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella choleraesuis and Streptococcus suis.

  • Ready to use; does not require premixing or refrigeration.
  • Safe to use in lactating dairy cattle and requires no milk withhold time when used according to label directions.
  • Active ingredient: Ceftiofur (as hydrochloride) 50 mg.
  • Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.
  • 4-day meat withdrawal for swine.
  • 3-day meat withdrawal for cattle.
  • Zero milk withhold.
  • Not for human use.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store at controlled room temperature. Protect from freezing.
  • Contents should be used within 42 days after first dose is removed.
  • 100 ml vials can only be broached a maximum of 50 times. 250 ml vials can only be broached a maximum of 85 times.

Shake product for 90 seconds to ensure complete resuspension before using.
Cattle: Do not administer more than 15 ml per injection site. Administer subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

  • Footrot and bovine respiratory disease (BRD) treatment/control: 1 to 2 ml per 100 lbs every 24 hours for 3 days. Additional treatment may be given on days 4 and 5 if necessary.
  • Systemic metritis: 2 ml per 100 lbs every 24 hours for 5 days.
  • Bovine respiratory disease (BRD) treatment: 2 ml per 100 lbs on days 1 and 3 (48 hrs apart).

Swine: Do not administer more than 5 ml per injection site. Administer intramuscularly.

  • Bacterial respiratory disease treatment/control: 1 ml per 22 to 37 lbs every 24 hours for 3 days.
