Braided, coated, synthetic, violet absorbable suture which is composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA); dyed with FDA-approved color additives and coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. Can be used in soft tissue approximation/ligation, which would include ophthalmic procedures. Should not be used in cardiovascular or neurological procedures. Wound support: 82% tensile strength at 2 weeks, 56% at 3 weeks. Absorption: 90 to 100 days.
