Sulfadimethoxine 40% Injection is for the treatment of shipping fever complex, calf diphtheria, and foot rot in beef cattle, dairy cattle, and calves. Single dose, antibiotic injection is administered intravenously for rapid absorption. Each ml contains 400-mg sulfadimethoxine. An effective treatment for bovine respiratory disease (brd) caused by shipping fever complex, bacterial pneumonia associated with Pasteurella spp sensitive to sulfadimethoxine, necrotic pododermatitis (foot rot), and calf diphtheria caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum (Spherophorus necrophorus) sensitive to sulfadimethoxine.

  • Broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.
  • 5-day slaughter withhold; 60-hour milk withdrawal.
  • Not for use in calves to be processed for veal.
  • Properly restrain the animal during administration.

Inject a dose intravenously at a rate of 25-mg per lb on the first day. Then, for the next 3 to 5 days, administer a dose rate of 12.5-mg per lb. Treatment should be continued until the animal is asymptomatic for 48 hours.
