MN NUES Ear tags are the official state ID tags approved by the Minnesota Board of Animal Health for Minnesota residents. These tags are easy to read and identifiable as a U.S. state tag. NUES ear tags are one-time use (tamper evident) and are imprinted with the NUES number starting with 41 (the official number for Minnesota) and the U.S. shield. The NUES number is formatted with 9 characters starting with an official state number followed by three letters and then four numbers.
Small size is considered multi-species for sheep, goat, swine, etc. The larger size tag is the same as a size large in Allflex sizing of ear tags; used for cattle and may be used for deer, bison, or elk.
These tags have been approved by the USDA and submitted to the Minnesota State Board of Animal Health. For purchase by MN residents only. For non-Minnesota residents, please contact your State Board of Animal Health for ordering.
Labeled for: beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, swine, elk, and deer
Species: cattle, sheep, goat, pig, deer, elk

We have used these for a few years, the small ones are good for sheep, and baby calves that will get a herd tag later. I have only had 1 animal rip out the small tag. The large tags rip out a little easier as they snag easier, but they are much easier to read from a distance. I wish Leedstone offered the medium size ones as a option. I think they would work well for more applications.
