Callicrate Smart Loops are for use with the Callicrate Smart Bander to castrate bulls 300 to 3000 lbs. The prolapse loop is used for removing uterine prolapses when the tissue is damaged beyond surgical repair. Bands and loops are made of durable latex, three-times stronger than surgical tubing, and have aluminum clips which secure the band in place to eliminate slippage. These loops are specially formulated to maintain high tension for consistent results. The prolapse loops are designed to fit over any large tissue mass such as uterine, rectal, and cervical prolapses. They can also be useful to ligate tumors, abscesses, and other abnormal growths needing removal or sloughed by the animal.

Labeled for: beef and dairy cattle

Species: cattle, calf, sheep, goat

  • Features a patented clip to lock the loop in place while allowing a custom fit for each animal.
  • Can be used to castrate any sized animal (300 to 3,000 lbs).
  • Prolapse bands are larger than the castrate bands to allow a prolapsed uterus to be removed when the uterus is too damaged to be replaced.
  • Less stress on the animal than other castration methods, allowing uninterrupted feed intake and gains.
  • Features a clip which can be slipped to properly size each band and then locked in place with the included bander.
  • Each band is made of durable latex with lubrication to ensure uniformed stretching.
  • Use only for the castration of animals or the removal of prolapsed uteruses.
  • Wear safety goggles to avoid injury if the loops slip from bander.

Restrain animals. Place one loop onto the included bander. Work scrotum and both testicles through the loop. Make sure both testicles are below the loop before tightening. Tighten loop until tension peg touches back of slot. Push down on crimping lever. Cut the loop as close to spool as possible using the Callicrate Cutter. It is recommended to give each animal a shot of Tetanus Toxoid after castrating (follow label instructions).

Use one loop per animal. Scrotum should fall off in 20 to 35 days.

Prolapse instructions:

Wear safety glasses.

Use a Callicrate Smart Prolapse Loop (a larger version of the Callicrate Loop used for castration).

Tetanus toxoid (not antitoxin) must be used. It is important to read and follow vaccine instructions. For more information, contact your veterinarian.

Insert the end of the prolapse loop into the nose of the bander.

Place the loop around animal’s uterine prolapse and pull to remove all slack from both sides. Keep even tension on both sides.

Tighten loop until tension peg touches back of slot.

Push down on crimping lever.

Cut the loop as close to spool as possible using the Callicrate Cutter.

The prolapse may need to be surgically removed after banding depending on the size of tissue mass. Contact your veterinarian if assistance is required.
